What a great start to my Instructional Leadership degree. This class was a great way to get things started on the right foot. A challenging, but extremely interesting class. When we started class I felt like I was technologically savvy, but this class made me realize that there is so much more out there. In relation to technology in schools, there are departments that use technology that I would have never guessed. When I think of bus drivers and sweet old lunchroom ladies using technology the way they do, it makes me take a step back. I was "WOW"ed by the presenters we had in this class. Mr Evans, Mr Kubik, and the ladies from the CNP amazed me at what all they did. Also getting to hear Mr. Whitten and getting a walk through of the county's tech system was fascinating.
This year I would like to implement more technology into my class. Being a PE teacher, this could be challenging. I am doing research to see what other PE teachers are doing to incorporate technology in their classes.
If I learn as much as I have in this class during the rest of the program, I feel that I will have the ability to be an affective administrator.

NATC 2010
On Thursday I attended the Glogster session. Glogster is an online tool for presentations. Basically, Glogster is a multimedia poster. You are able to add text and videos to a page for presentations. This resource would be great for a class to do presentations with. The students would find this easy to use and enjoyble.
I also attended a WONDERFUL workshop on cleaning up your email. The presenter did an OUTSTANDING JOB!!!!!! Very informatiove and enjoyable. I learned a lot about our email system and have had a good time trying to implement some of the time saving aspects of the presentation.
All in all, I really enjoyed the conference. The food was great too. I learned many things that I will be able to take bake to school with me and use this year to better my classroom.

NATC 2010
I attended the North Alabama Technology conference on July 14-15, 2010.
I enjoyed several workshops and sessions.
On Wednesday I attended three workshops. The first was "Presenting with Prezi". Prezi is a web based non linear way to do presentations. With Prezi you are able to use text, images, animation, movies and other things to present your idea or presentation. This workshop was a review for me since I had already learned the basics of Prezi. But still this was an informational workshop that I enjoyed. The second workshop I attended was the general session. Mr. Richard Love gave a wonderful presentation about the state of American children and technology. This presentation was very eye opening. Mr. Love gave us a lot of information about cybersaftey and he addressed the need for teacher and parents to learn more about technology so that we can understand what our students and children are getting in to on the internet. The third session was titled:Leading the way". Again, Mr. Love was the presenter and this session was a follow up to the general session. Mr. Love went into greater detail of websites that parents and teachers needed to familiarise themselves with to keep our children safe. This presentation was gave administrators guidelines for what we needed to watch out for from a safety aspect of using the internet. This was a very informative session and I would highly recommend attending on of Mr. Love's sessions if you ever get the chance.

Why do I want to be an administrator?
My reasoning for wanting to become a school administrator is simply that I would like to be an encouraging and positive influence in student's lives. I remember the administrators from my days as a student and every memory is a positive one. These positive memories are what are inspiring me to pursue my instructional leadership degree. As a physical education teacher, I see every student, every day. I see what happens to students when they are around positive role models. I believe that as a principal I could influence my students in ways I never will be able to as a physical education teacher. I want to play a larger role in shaping the future generations. Becoming an administrator will allow me to reach these objectives.
