Why do I want to be an administrator?

My reasoning for wanting to become a school administrator is simply that I would like to be an encouraging and positive influence in student's lives. I remember the administrators from my days as a student and every memory is a positive one. These positive memories are what are inspiring me to pursue my instructional leadership degree. As a physical education teacher, I see every student, every day. I see what happens to students when they are around positive role models. I believe that as a principal I could influence my students in ways I never will be able to as a physical education teacher. I want to play a larger role in shaping the future generations. Becoming an administrator will allow me to reach these objectives.

  1. I am sure many of the skills you have cultivated seeing the entire student population daily in a large school will serve you well as an administrator. It is wonderful that your own memories are so positive, too.
